Coolest NHL Jerseys?

Recommended Posts

- Philly (would be okay if the namebar wasnt a different color than the jersey)

The name bar looks like someone realized 45 minutes before the game, "Oh, geez, we don't have any names on the uniforms!!"

5. Blackhawks (3rd)

6. Blackhawks (away)

7. Red Wings (Vintage Winter Classic)

8. Red Wings (home and away)

9. Habs (away)

10. Capitals (Vintage Winter Classic)

11. Blackhawks (Vintage Winter Classic)

12. Canucks (40th Anniversary Vintage)

13. Islanders (home and away)

14. Habs (Vintage 1909-10)

15. Habs (Vintage 1910-11)

16. Flyers (Home and Away)

17. Bruins (Winter Classic Vintage)

18. Predators (3rd)

hmmmm Sharks Black Alternate. I just love the all black look with the bit of teal in it.

I love the Sens and Lightning socks. They just look cool on.

Best look: Philadelphia in black... it's make them look meaner than they are, and they are mean so...

i like the lightning 3rds

I think these are among the worst in the league.

If the Rangers would tone down the backhadow on the numbers, their blue jersey would be the best in the league.

Nah. What they need to do is go back to the vertically-arched names. Radially-arched looks horrible.

Am I the only one that thinks that it is one of, if not the, best part of the jersey?

I think they still are vertically arched, if I'm getting what you're saying.

I`m aware of the diffrence there.

the on-ice jerseys they wear (and the ones I own) are all vertically arched, like the vanbiesbrouck jersey you posted.

The only ones with radially arched names are knockoffs, as far as I know.

Agreed, but the diagonal "Rangers" word mark is a great look, even if Pittsburgh and Colorado did crappy recreations.

No, the team uses radially arched lettering.

The change came when they went to nameplates rather than direct.

Aren't those vertically arched...?

Damn, I probably won't get it anyway, nm, sorry about being a dick...

If the comparison is between the lettering in the photo above and the link with Vanbiesbrouck's jersey, I find the lettering in the photo to have a cleaner look.

Well with a 13 letter name it will not look good regardless...

Burrn - it's really not the same - the angles and drop shadows was the difference. The jerseys now, the drop shadow is the same thickness around each letter, and the angles of the first and last letter aren't as tweaked as it used to be. Neil Smith took the look from his previous employer; Detroit.

Ok, got it.

More about the degree of "archedness", I guess.

I do agree though that the older more arched ones make longer names like beezer's (how about "zuccarello-aasen" lol) look better.
