Tim Horton once paid Johnny Bower off with 18 dozen doughnuts instead of $25 for an autograph signing. Best part was that he brought the doughnuts into Bower's stall at the rink the next day haha

I remember when Horton was playing for the Sabres and thought it was cool that an NHL player owned a doughnut shop. When he died on the QEW racing back to Toronto from a Buffalo game it was huge news. It was only then after reading all the obits that I realized he was that much of a legend in the game. Supposed to be one strong son-of-a-bitch as well. Joyce made out like a bandit in the deal with Horton's widow.
