bongo

Recommended Posts

i noticed on hockey monkey they recommend using bongo to ship internationally - i can see how that would be helpful to avoid large shipping fees - but what about the occasional product that comes out in the US and isn't supposed to be sold in canada or other places?

do people use bongo as a way to bypass things that aren't supposed to be sold/shipped outside the country? Or do they check for that?

also what experiences have people had? if hockeymonkey recommends them i would assume they are reputable..

My understanding is you are sending the goods to an American address (owned by you) Therefor the laws in places for not shipping certain items overseas are void as it is from your own personal address. If you own the goods at your address in the states you can ship them where ever you want.

The reason the big retailers cannot ship is because they are a registered business.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes thats the main idea behind it for international shipping.

As they are not actually shipping it outside of the US they are not breaking any rules or laws and Bauer and Easton can hardly stop them from using these types of companies.

Shipitto is another one

If your an Australian wanting to buy gear i would recommended using PriceUSA, i used them personally for clothing and they are fantastic, easy to deal with and quick

All up between putting my order in, paying for it, and shipping it took about 9 days. The biggest delay was the damn ground shipping in the US

I've also heard good things about Bongo

Used Bongo to deliver my X60 skates. Good service, communication and EXTREMELY quick delivery (DHL). Leans a bit on the expensive side in terms of shipping and tax but still ended up being MUCH cheaper than it would have been buying skates in the UK.

I had to pay 132$ shipping on Bongo (from CT to Montreal) and 160$ duty with DHL, on a 450$ order.

I dont recommend.

Thanks dupes, I was thinking of getting some gloves off hockeygiant and using BONGO, this just gave me an awesome reason not to and saved me some cash.
