Hockey Monkey NJ Superstore

Recommended Posts

I might be in the area of NJ where Hockey Monkey has a superstore. Anyone know how large their selection of skates is? Do they have a good selection of regular and wide widths, etc? I do not live in an area that has much in the way of hockey equipment retailers so if it is worth the slight detour I'd like to check the place out. I don't need any expertise, just a good supply of models and sizes. Thanks!

It's a solid selection of high end, mid end, and low end skates. The store has nearly everything that is on the hockey monkey website.

They carry all the major brands and almost all of their product lines. As far as sizes they carry IDK but they will probably have it

I also think they're staff for the most part is sub par. Selection's ok though, as long as you're looking at sticks and skates anyhow.

Thanks to all for the feedback. I know what I need fit wise so all I ask from them is to bring me the skates I ask to try on. I plan on trying on every skate that could possibly fit my foot type, and in multiple sizes for each. I might not get the opportunity to hit a big selection again for quite a while so I plan on taking full advantage of the stock available.

Big selection, but sometimes the inventory is more than a year old. For rapidly changing products you may find yourself paying 2011 prices for 2009 stuff.

Selection is good across the brands. Staff is mostly younger kids, but some have practical hockey knowledge (because they play). They can also get stock from a warehouse as well as the CA store. I would say to go in there with as much knowledge as you can though, just in case you run into a high school sophomore with a HockeyMonkey shirt on...
