Traditional stance VS Agressive stance

Recommended Posts

I am deciding between t1's and apx's. the both fit well, and I havebeen using traditional stance all of my life. if I go with the apx's, will i have to change the way i skate drastically or minimally.

Thanks

they both fit fine. I take a supreme D and a Vapor E. when i had a T1 on my left and apx on my right foot, they were both comfortable, but the apx felt like they had more blade on the floor would this improve my skating ability or hinder it. also i am a defense, would skating backwards be different?

thanks

They shouldn't both fit fine, because they are different fits. However I do believe JR once posted that a Supreme D is actually a true E width (confirmation please  )

IIRC the Vapor boot is built with a bit of a more forward/aggressive stance due to the angle of the back of the boot/tendon guard while Supreme is rather neutral.

Most stock steel comes in a 10' radius/ a neutral profile. If you want sharper turns, you can always get the steel profiled to something like a 9' whereas if you want more glide/stability; a move up to an 11' would work.

Supreme size D is in width terms, a Vapor E.

However those two skates have different heel shapes, the APX has a larger toebox, and the T1 has larger volume.

The LSFusion steel is supposed to be at a 9' radius. T1 you'll be more on your heels then the APX. You'll notice it, but IMO it wont take long at all to compensate for the differences.

Not sure what you mean. The APX will make you feel like you're more on your toes. The T1 will be more neutral. As others have said, you're usually a vapor cut or supreme cut, not usually both. I definitely have a vapor foot, didn't like the fit of the T1's.

You guys are aware you can change your radius and pitch. You can make combo radius etc. Frankly if you are a D that can hit I would get a 11/17 radius.

If you like the fit of a skate you can make it pitch you forward or neutral I would NEVER make a skate a true neutral or back
