Reebok 2011 Skate Models?

Was just wondering if Reebok will be coming out with a new line of ice hockey skates for this season?

The current crop of 7, 8, 10, and 11k are technically 2010 models right? Will their be any 2011 models? Will they be new skates or simply 2011 versions of the 2010 models?

I plan on purchasing some new skates in the next few months and just didn't want to buy something if newer models may be incoming. Seems hockey companies don't release their new stuff at regular times? Some gear is coming out now yet I read that some other gear won't be out til April 2012 when the current season is almost over?

Also, anyone have experience with what are the primary differences between the Reebok 7k and 8k skates? I really like the white look of the 7k, but think the 8k might be more appropriate for my skating level. I can't tell what the major differences between the two are.

If you search carefully you can see few pictures of the new 2012 reebok 20k skate. The 2012 line will entirely new.

After, either you buy skates because you need some or you buy to have the latest models

If you have fitting issues, I would not wait the season to be over (april 2012) to get some proper wheels.

Thanks for the info...I've seen pic of the new 20k...look sweet...though it kinda sucks that they release gear near the end of seasons rather than the start.

And I have always used CCM Tacks and with my most recent pair switched to Reebok and continue to love the fit...I'm not in a rush to buy skates...mine still hold for what I do...but was just keeping my head up in case I come across a good deal or my current ones suddenly crap out.

They do the 8k in the white version as well.

They do it this way for a couple of reasons: A) Help out retailers so they have their gear for sure in time for the start of season. B) End of season, this is when stuff gets put on clearance because new models come out. If they had it in the fall when stuff came out, clearance items would be right now, in the heart of hockey season, also bad for retailers. C) It gives those who are competitive with hockey to get 3 months of use out of their gear in the summer before season picks up again. Gives proper break-in time etc.

And Akhenat0n, I've only found the 8Ks in white from one Canadian retailer and it costs $100 more than a regular pair of 8Ks and same as a pair of 10Ks...I'll admit I like the white color...but not that much!

If you know of a place that sells the 8Ks in white for the same price as the black color...send me a link and I'll be eternally grateful...thanks!
