Right lads, this is it. I'm thinkin of coming to Canada in a few years, probably somewhere near Vancouver. Sell your country to me, make me need it!

Aaa you see, I've lived in Scotland for 5 years, so I'm used to it...although I like a hot day, there's nowt quite like coming in from the cold to a mug of something hot. Call me a traditionalist...I'm fairly sure Vancouver doesn't get that cold though. I'm planning a visit next year, to see whether I like it.

My reasoning for moving to Canada would be that I have already lived in the USA for a year (in KS - Lawrence - very liberal town, nice - so it wasn't that that put me off!), and I'd prefer to live the kind of life I do up here in Scotland. I like living in a country that is above a twattish nation, that watches on with curious interest at it's neighbours in the South...hehehe!

Yeah, I'd like to live someplace nice and warm like Florida. I hate Michigan winters (except for the pond hockey :P )

One of my friends goes to school in Tampa and he says thats sometimes girls go to class in bikinis!!?!? is this true? lol

Damn, girls here are starting to get their Winter fat... lol j/k ;)

The girls in Scotland sometimes wear their bikinis...but it's still 5C and they ain't pretty up here. It's wrong. The temperature goes minutely above 5-10C and everyone's in sarongs...

...and if I may be permitted to joke...it's just sarong.

"In 1994, Bill C-212 was introduced to officially declare hockey as Canada's national sport. Opposition came from supporters of lacrosse who wanted to recognize the traditional and cultural significance of this sport. Consequently, Bill C-212 was amended to recognize both sports. Thus, on May 12, 1994, Canada's National Sport Act (Bill C-212) became law, reading: "To recognize hockey as Canada's National Winter Sport and lacrosse as Canada's National Summer Sport".

Well if you are addicted to the seasons as some of us are....Vancouver is a great climate...rain not withstanding...but as you are from Scotland...I am sure a little mist is not much of a put off. Some of the greatest vistas in N. America are hours away by car...less in fact...great skiing within 2 hours..laid back population....Vancouver never get's really cold anyway, but if you want some really crisp weather in the winter, or baking weather in the summer...just head up the highway towards the interior. Never a lack of stuff to do around that city....great place to live..one of my favorites over the years.

PS....I am surprised you have not yet been roasted for the "twattish nation" comment.....must be a dialectic deficiency or something..... :P

Hehe regarding the dialectic deficiency - it's doesn't have such rude connotations over here, but I apologise for offending any of you ladies...*hyuk hyuk*

I'm not born Scots, but I'm an honorary Scot - having spent a quarter of my life here now.

Yeah, nobodys arguing that. I wish I lived in Canada, my parents considered it after Bush won the election. Sounds like a great place to live oh well, Minnesota is close enough.

Winnipeg is good. Highest muder Ratio and it gets down to -50C in the winter, plus about 4 feet of snow. Our summers are the best in the country though, 35+ all summer.
