How do I custom curve my own stick?

Recommended Posts

I always boil a pot of water and put the blade in for a few minutes( for wood blades). The blade gets soft this way and doesnt peel and bubble like it does it you overheat it with a stove or blowtorch. As for composites... Some composite blades can be curved. The problem is its hard to tell which will work and which do not. Warrior dolomite HD and DD blades get really rubbery when you heat them up and in my experience, after being tweaked the durability wasn't affected. You can't really twist them open but if you want to add a little toe to a curve you can do it.

Some people do customize there composits. I have a teamate who uses a heat gun and gets the toe just

hot enough so he can get a little bit more curve on it. Never use torch on it. Either way, between all the different

curves available from manufactures you should never really have to torch your expensive twig and risk destroying it.

Yeah you can modify composites, as the previous two posters have mentioned, and I've tried to elaborate three times in this thread only to have my posts deleted each and every time. Apparently it's taboo to talk about.

No, your posts were deleted because those instructions would result in people destroying their sticks. Heating a blade to in excess of 400 degrees F is going to ruin pretty much every stick on the market. You now stand at three deleted posts and one making accusations that don't match up with what we have told you.

The Bauer TotalOne stick doesnt work like this. May have just tried it and failed miserably!

And THAT is why I stand by my statement. And why posts were deleted in this thread.

I'm sure people do it, and it may work, on certain sticks.

But, this section is a FAQ; if we allow someone to put instructions on how to do something we don't recommend, it means that, in a way, it's endorsed. We want this section to be an one-stop-shop for simple hockey equipment and MSH questions.

Then we have people who ruined their sticks because they read it on MSH...

There's plenty of information here on how to curve wood sticks. I'll be closing this thread now.
