CCM Ovie Skates Cheap

Just noticed that the Ovie line CCM's are selling for pretty good discounts, due to his move to Bauer. Ice Warehouse has the Ovie Cl's for $469 and the U12's for $229. I'm not a fan of the red and gold but I'd argue that a pair of new U+12's for $229 might be the best deal for any skate on the market. Agree, disagree?

If you change the yellow laces to white they don't look too bad. You're likely to still catch some beak for it though.

I have never seen a single instance of anyone chirping someone else for their gear in any house league, drop-in shinny, intramural, competitive hockey etcetc ever. Forget what others think, the CLs and 12s are amazing skates.

I believe the CCM U+ Ovie SE editions are comparable with a U+10 and not the U+12, therefore the deal is not quite as good. Still a great deal on the CL's though.

I think its more comparable with the u10, as I mentioned above. Can someone else confirm?

If they are 12's then it is a great deal but if they are 10's then the deal is only Warm.

$130 off CL's is a good deal though.

Even here in the Great White the U12's are on for $299. So tempted to buy a pair, but need to save for new TV for the apartment. Either way, one hell of a deal IMO.

In the video review on IW , he says its not quite as stiff as the U+10 , but it does have the surlyn quarter. so Id say its somewhere betwene the 8 and 10.........not a very good deal on that one , but the cl model would be worth a look if your in the market.

There are 2 models

The CCM U+ CL Ovie edition - This skate is essentially the same as the CCM U+ CL just has the red patches on it.

and then the older CCM OVIE SE - This is similar to the U+ 10

I bought a pair of U + CL's brand new off of ebay for $224 about a month ago. Theyre sitting unbaked in my closet waiting for my current skates to break down :)

I was pretty happy to find them that cheap...I even posted a link to them on here when I saw them.
