adding a little foam inside the skate?

Recommended Posts

there is a tiny little spot inside my skate, just below the ankle padding that has kinda worn thin,do you guys think its possible/a good idea to maybe just hot glue gun a small piece of left over helmet foam in there just for comfort?

its a really tiny sport but i can really feel it once the 3rd period rolls around

Sure why not? I use to just use those gel things that women use for their high heels. You can get them from shoppers drugs mart.

Honestly don't do anything that might ruin a 500 dollar skate, talk to professionals and have them do it. The guys at tsr apparently do a fine job. Please let me how it goes, I was chatting with them at the hockey east tourney last year.

I use a sock called a "Bunga Pad". It's a sleeved sock that you can either wear over your bare foott (which is what I prefer), or over your sock. It makes a world of a difference. They are pretty pricey though - $90USD for a pair if I recall.

Buy regular double sided tape, it’s a foam tape that has adhesive on both sides, and any convenience or hardware store has it,

Then simply work the desired area to any thickness or shape you want, after you're done use a pie of cloth to tap and press over the tape so it won’t stick to your sock. I personally like dyer softening sheets, they have some powder on it and work well on the tape. If you’re clever you can actually built a whole back wall of the skate for better fit.

Cheers

i was considering trying this for my inline skates. they are bauers and when i skate hard backwards, i get pain on my left heel and i'm nervous about developing haglunds bumps. i thought some padding like this might help but i am nervous about putting it on and not being able to remove it without damaging the boot liner. does it come off easily?
