Clink sound when stepping down

Recommended Posts

When I put my right skate on, I hear a clink when I step down with it. Skates are just under a year old and I used to hear the same sound back in the day for roller when the bolts weren't tightened enough.

Is the steel loose or the holder? At what point does it become a problem? If I dropped my skates off, how long might it take to fix?

Holder could be slightly warped, too.

Had a similar problem (mine was more of a creak), had a few different shops look at it, steel was tightened fine, but they all said there might be a slight warpage.

Should take seconds to tighten, I would think, on most holders.

They are x50s so TUUK Lightspeed 2 with TUUK LS2 stainless steel runner

My 8090's , Daughters Vapor 4.0 and my new one 80's are/have done that...What the hell is the problem?? I have tightened them and it did not fix the problem, and It is always the front.

Had the same problem. The rivets had come loose at the front of the left skate. Got them re-riveted, and the problem was fixed.

This. Had same thing in my Missions, rivet fix solved it...

if it's in the front it's just a matter of tightening the rivets as the others have mentioned. The newer plastic soles don't seem to hold rivets as well. If it's in the back you need to tighten the nut holding the steel.

sounds like the blade in your skate has alittle play... the higher end holders have a bolt to tighten them.... the TUUKS nowadays are notorious for this.

Short of using ICM or SLM style holders, they all get loose eventually.
