will 280 Tuuk LS2 fit on 8.5 skate?

Recommended Posts

ive got a set of ls2s id like to replace my custom plus holders with on a old pair if nikes. the nikes are a 9 so theyre probly about the same as a bauer 8.5. the custom plus holders on it now are 272 but im wondering if theres anyway 280 would fit, if so would i notice a big difference, would it hurt anything?

They should fit fine. . . if they do overhang a little it would only be a small amount.

The only issue you may have, which is a big one, is your holes from the 272 holders may overlap where the 280s are going too much and cause issues with the rivets. I don't think it will be much of an issue though. I put siz 280 holders on my old graf 707's (sz 8.5) that originally came with 272's. To make things more complicated, when I bought the skates they had a roller hockey chassis on them. They had a gazillion holes in them after I was done putting the 280 holder's on them, but I never had an issue.

It's hard to say if you'll notice much of a difference or not. You will have longer steel, but depending on how much of that steel is actually touching the ice, it may be a similar length to what is already on there.

Yes, you should have no problems going up one holder size. I had a similar adjustment made to some old Bauer skates and I was informed by a Modsquad Guru that it would not be a problem.
