X:60 Blade is too big for Dolomite Shaft

Recommended Posts

Sup guys

For some reason i cant get my new X:60 blade into my dolo shaft...feels like im really forcing...never had this issue with any shaft/blade before...i know the X:60 is tapered, as is my shaft so thats not an issue. Can anyone help?

Thanks!

The dolo is the smallest of all the tapered shaft/blades in my experience. I have had success with lightly sanding the tenon fit (I did Base blade into Dolomite shaft). Obviously you want to be careful not take too much off and weaken the blade.

Bauer tapered blades/shafts also seem to be on the wide side of the spectrum in terms of the tenon/opening. I've also had trouble getting an X60 blade into non-Bauer tapered shafts, and also had no problems with lightly sanding the tenon. Didn't take much sanding at all for me, just a touch.

There's an X60 blade for non-tapered shafts? Never knew that, mine is definitely for tapered shafts, though the tenon is still ever so slightly wider than my tapered Warrior blades (Dolo DD and Dynasty).

Bauer has X:60/APX SE shafts and blades which are the standard .620 taper. You can see the APX version in the 2012 catalog.
