Stick: Bauer APX - bad quality?

New Stick: Bauer APX

I was taping my new Bauer APX and flexed the blade with my hands, and i can hear a strange sound? Is the blade broken or?

Sounds like a defect during manufacturing. I'd return it and get a new one. I'm guessing it didn't cure properly.

yeah... there's been numerous reports of the APX blades squicking. for mine it didn't happen right away (which rules away the "didn't cure properly" suggestion), but sure enough happened within a month of playing.

nothing like that has ever happened for One95 or Total one which actually makes me wonder if it's a design defect associated with the fact that the blade is made from 2 pieces?

the warranty is 90 days, but I got my stick online & so couldn't use it otherwise I'd have swapped it to T1 in a heart beat (already bough one actually, APX is collecting dust now)

Mine is doing the same. Outside of a month. It is squeaking and I have never had another stick squeak before.

sponge blade. happens to all my apxs. it pisses me off. they need to do something about it

I had the same problem. After 5 months of using the APX (3-4 months with the blade squeaking) it finally broke at the bottom of the shaft. Previous (2) one95s and X60 never had blade squeaking.

If it is the 2 pieces in the blade rubbing together, it would seem like the squeaking was inevitable and might not be a durability issue. This is just my personal experience with the 1 APX I have owned.

same thing happened to me :( Good to know this isn't an isolated thing. I switched from a lie 6 to lie 5 p92 so I thought it was my shot mechanics that were causing the blade to wear out sooner.

the squeaking feels more like there's delamination happening inside of the blade. I notice that the blade is more dead feeling now and I can't get the same pop on my shots anymore.

I'm gonna contact Bauer today and see what they say. Is there a Bauer rep on here who can comment on this issue?

The squeaking is likely a crack in the composite "bondo" filler, it really does nothing to integrity of the blade. All sticks have this filler and they all crack at some point. The blade will likely last a while, heck the stick will prob break at the usual Bauer point, above the hosel, before the blade goes.
