Dolomite vs Dolomite Spyne

Recommended Posts

so i have a choice between getting the dolomite or a dolomite spyne (2010 models) and please correct me if im wrong, but it seems the spyne version came out first and then they re-released the stick without the spyne blade technology? is there something flawed with the spyne blade or should i buy the one without?

I've owned em both and they broke way too soon. The spyne at midblade and the 'regular' blade split. But IMO the spyne blade was better.

I have the Dolomite Kovalchuk blade but is deemed useless. The first time I tried to put the blade into a shaft, the neck of the blade cracked (would break into with a healthy clapper) due to the heating up of the glue. And for some reason, the shafts that I have tried to put the blade in fit funny. The blade is always loose. Even in the Warrior shaft I bought. Maybe it's my one time experience, but I'll hesitate to buy the any 2-piece from them. Besides, the lie (4) isn't what I like even though the curve is close to my favorite (P88).

From what I remember

Dolomite DD/HD = Low Kick Point (Tapered)

Dolomite Spyne = Mid Kick Point (Standard)

The 'Spyne Technology' probably isn't anything more than hyped marketing ploy with little or no effect on performance. I think the re-release may have been with the DD foams rather than the HD blades.

anyone know why warrior cant put together a decent strong blade? they used to be known for their toughness...sad

No kidding. The old, original Dolomite models were super tanks. Now I'm afraid to buy a newer one because of their issues, oh well.
