External defibulators are worth their weight in gold when used appropriatly. For every minute a heart is fibrillating or not circulating blood, is a 10 percent loss of survivability. After 10 minutes, you are toast.

I wonder if this is a similar episode to what Jiri Fischer had? Hopefully we will find out soon.

made me consider taking a CPR/AED class. Wonder, if a local fire house conducts those...

Most would I think... if not maybe try a St John's Ambulance course or something similar?

I have my CPR training done every other year, as well as practice with the AED at the same time so that I remain currect. Its a skill that no one should be without, but fingers crossed never have to use.

We have to do CPR/AED training every year, I hope I never have to use it. I do have to find somewhere to take a certification course so I can get my rescue diver certification this year.
