Need some help - CCM Stick Warranty

Recommended Posts

Would like some advice. I guess I can just call CCM/Reebok but just wondering i anyone has had experience with this.

My son broke his brand new Crazy Strong stick after the first day. He took a slapshot and the shaft broke in half right up near the top 1/3 of the stick. Really weird break. Just snapped clean off.

So I go to the CCM website to find out the process for a warranty return. It says must provide original receipt (ok, no problem... got it).

But it also says must provide serial number sticker from stick - looking at my receipt, there is no serial number sticker on it???

Also, there is no removable sticker on the shaft either??? There is the serial number sticker under the gloss coat of the stick but no second serial number sticker???

What gives - how am I supposed to send a serial number sticker if I don't have one - never got one from retailer?

Wondering if this is a warranty killer? I have proof of purchase, etc but was never given a serial number sticker on my receipt?

Do you think they will still honor warranty. Not sure if sticker was ripped off by some kid at store and nobody thought to look or what.

I never had to deal with this before but just wondering if anybody has had this issue and what was the result as far as warranty. Nobody mentioned the sticker at the store.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Give them a call and explain your story. From my experience (With Easton/Bauer, never CCM/Reebok) they are usually okay as long as you have the orignal receipt and proof of purchase. Can't make any promises becuase I've never personally dealt with their company, but I think you should be okay as long as you call and explain your situation.

Unfortunately, most companies will not budge on having the sticker with the corresponding serial number on the reciept for a warranty return. You can try to get reebok/ccm to warranty it, but I wouldn't expect too much. I would go back to the hockey store you bought it from and explain it to them and see if they can help you in any way.

Two posts with completely different responses.

OP, call CCM/Reebok and explain the situation. The only reasons I can think of for a stick not to have the warranty sticker on it is if it was issued as a warranty replacement (which would be weird since you bought it at a retailer) or if like you said, someone ripped it off in the store.

Your store screwed up. CCM dealers are instructed to remove the serial number sticker and place it on the receipt. Your issue is with the store, not CCM. Take you receipt back to them along with the stick and ask them why they didn't follow CCM policy. Then ask them to replace the stick. BTW, it's rare that the serial number would be missing from the stick, no reason for anyone to take it as nothing can be done unless they have matching stick. Something is fishy about this, not sure what but something is up.

I am assuming it either got pulled off in the store by some kid -or- if it was on there, my kid taped it up, and it got pulled off while he was using it on the ice??? Wondering why the store didn't put it on the receipt - or maybe it was not on the stick.

Update - Called CCM and they understood my dilemma. Had me send the stick in for consideration.

Thanks CCM/Reebok - great customer service so far - now let's see if i get my replacement.
