NSG and the tongue inserts

Just got NXGs and a bunch of inserts, tried them all and it seems that the bottom pocket on the tongue isn't deep enough so that no matter how hard I try to push the insert down the button doesn't align and I can't clip the insert on?

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there an easy way to solve it other than just chopping off a small piece from the bottom of the insert?

I bend the insert. I am using the mid so it isn't an issue.

Try sliding a thin slotted screwdriver into the bottom pocket and see if it goes all the way to the end. Just might be tight where they are new? I had to work a bit to get mine in first time around, but have no problems now.

It really didn't look like the bottom pocket was deep enough for even allowing the alignment for the button so I just cut ~1/8" from the bottom of the insert and it locked without any problem.
