Nexus shing guard fit/sizing

Recommended Posts

Looking at some Nexus shins and I'm trying to figure out the best size to go with. Closest shop only has 15's. I'm usually stuck in between a 15 or 16 depending on the brand.

In my experience, and I'm not sure if anyone else has found this, but with the Bauer shin's I have owned in the past (mosty Vapor style ) I have worn 15" but my last pair were Reebok's (11K) 16's and they felt about the same length.

Does the extra volume of the Nexus shins make them seem to fit differently size wise compared to the other Bauer's? Anyone like me who seem stuck in the middle and went with the bigger size or smaller on the Nexus? Have only seen comments about the volume fit in searching and just trying to guage whether or not I have to find the time to drive to the shop.

Thanks

I'd say its closer to a half inch difference. I currently wear the Bauer Pro Series shins in a 13 (predecessor to the Nexus 1000 line) and they are roughly a half inch shorter than my 14 inch Reebok 6Ks. Depends how you wear your shins relative to your skate tongues, but I prefer the slightly shorter pad (I go over the tongue). These should be the same length, but deeper/wider than the Vapor series.

My Nexus 1000 fit smaller than my Vapor 5.0 both were 14"

I had to change strap positions on the nexus to get them to sit on my legs properly.

Couldn't do that with my Vapors
