laserrobottime 149 Report post Posted March 27, 2013 ...just kidding. I got a pair of NOS 501s and they're spectacular. My dad had a pair in the early 90s and I remember his sadness at giving them up for Bauers when they gave up the ghost.Actual Question: How can I keep the liners in these in good shape? They're definitely natural, so I don't want them to rot after use seeing as these will be special occasion skates. Any care advice you guys can give would be appreciated. arcsinice 6 Report post Posted March 27, 2013 As is the case with any boot........... Always use fresh socks that you put on out of your carry bag when you put the skates on. After skating, open up the boot fairly well and expose to fresh air, never keep the boots in your bag unless of course transporting, above all never close same. Let the boot fully air out and dry.If, after a session the interior is quite wet as per persperation, one "trick" is to wad up a bunch of single newspaper sheets into balls and stuff each boot with same for a good hour or so then remove. Newspaper possesses incredible hydroscopic/drawing properties that pull a great deal of moisture out without any adverse effect. Works wonders in ski boots, too/vice versa.Take care of the blades, another commonly overlooked "standard".

Neal 41 Report post Posted March 28, 2013 If you're willing to invest some money into looking after them, something like the Peet boot dryer could help too.
