"blacking out" colors on socks

Has anyone every tried to black out stripes on edge socks? I have a pair of Bruins away socks, and I'd like to get rid of the yellow stripes. Do you think its possible to use a black fabric marker to cover up the yellow?

doesn't seem worth the effort to me when for the price of a couple fabric markers, you could just buy new socks.

I use black shin tape to do stuff like that. I hate wearing the other team's colors so if I play against a blue team I try to cover up the blue stripes on my tampa bay socks.

Yeah they sell coloured sock tape. Could tape over the stripes. Electrical tape is also great to use as sock tape, much tighter than the usual sock tape.

may be able to use spray paint too. It will make the socks stiff in that area but it would work
