CCM Pants Repair or Replace

Recommended Posts

Currently in a CCM U+05 Pant, size XL - nothing fancy. I'm only 5'11", but need the XL for overall 'girth' in the mid section and large thighs. These pants have been great, play recreational / beer league 1-2 games weekly between Oct - March. I've been in these for 3 years and finally wore through the rear part of the legging. Pants are still useful, but that tear will be growing with each use. So...

1) Repair options?

- duct tape, etc??

2) Replace options?

- Not partial to brand at this point, and I'm not sure what Bauer or Warrior sizing would match the CCM XL.

- Maybe just go with a new set of the same pants if I can find them, or some U+07's on closeout....

Ideas?

The gear whore in me says replace, but if the pants are broken in and suitable for your level of play, duct tape them. I've had good luck with a strip on the inside, then another strip on the outside, sticky-to-sticky. Round the corners so they won't peel back as easily.

I would think liquid nails or some type of epoxy would work to bond the nylon together.

Quick question on Bauer pants: HM has the Supreme 60's and 80's on sale, and I've heard good things about them. would I go XXL in those pants, coming from a CCM XL?

I figured the duct tape option would be posted  , that's the plan in the interim.

somewhere around here i have a roll of nylon Cooper "pants repair tape". I've used it to fix rips and hole in pants for... well, decades.... I'll see if I can locate it.... how long is your rip?
