Moose 1 Report post Posted May 29, 2013 I'm now in the market to replace a few of my old Bauer One95 sticks (that have lasted me a few years) and I'm looking for some feedback. It's my understanding at the Supreme line has changed some from One95 to the now top-of-the-line TotalOne NXG. I'm wondering if people know a good modern-day comparable stick to the one95 with a couple of caveats. First- I'm a bit spoiled and have found my sweet spot at Bauer's 95 flex with these pro stock sticks it seems like there is now a retail line with that flex which is nice but I'm not sure if that spans the whole supreme line. Also, I'd be especially happy if I could find a stick that runs longer than the One95 did. I'm 6'5 and though I use a shorter stick I'd like to see if there is something that comes a bit longer. Those have contributed to not pulling the trigger immediately on the One.9 which seems to be the modern replacement for the One95. Also, does anyone know there are many disguised One95s are still floating around the pro stock sticks (I believe the code was C28 and c29). I'm usually a bauer-blind customer but I'm willing to try something different- especially since I can get a car and run out to TSR to explore. As a point of comparison I loved the Easton RS I used at the Summer Jam in 2012 but have been wary about Easton durability since the old Easton SE sticks (and it was a 110 flex). Also have used the Reebok A.I.Nine (85 flex) and it was a good stick- liked the length and the blade but preferred the One95 and Easton. Also have the Milken ZL and I don't find the blade as responsive and lacked some of the pop I found in the One95. TL;DR: Need a stick to replace One95. What else is close besides Bauer One.

What else is close besides Bauer One.9What stick length do you like to buy off the rack? I am 6'2", going 2 piece, after a long layoff from the game. I have been measuring myself and trying to figure out sizes. I figure that a 54 inch shaft (TotalOne Tapered), 4 inch NXG composite plug, +6 inches of shaft gets me = 64 inches. I still think that may be a bit short for me, but we will see (I only play Forward, so who knows, maybe it will work?). Warrior just came out with a 6 inch composite plug as well, just not sure if it fits any sticks other than Warrior.
sickwilly 37 Report post Posted May 29, 2013 @Cosmic - Most senior end plugs would fit most senior sticks, from what I've seen (perhaps with some hot melt glue and a strip or two added to secure them more tightly). The only exceptions I can remember were some older Montreal OPS that had reinforcement on the inside of the shafts' corners. There may be more like that, but I haven't seen them. If you've already bought the 4 inch composite end plugs, I'm guessing you'd probably be all set with those.... unless you like your sticks really long. Everyone's different, but I'm 6'1" and would probably wind up cutting the 54 inch shaft a bit, without the extension. @Moose - which pattern are you looking for, in case something pops up? FWIW, I see Bauer blades that are listed as Bauer Pro Stock tapered One95 blades pop up on ebay from time to time. They have been amazing. Not sure if you'd consider the 2 piece route, though. Moose 1 Report post Posted May 29, 2013 I'm pretty committed to the OPS set up. I used to be a zbubble/focus flex set up in college but I haven't done it since 2007. I liked the AI Nine and that was 60 inches I think. 60 I think would be my minimum but 61/62 would be nice. I think the one95 was 58 inches. I'm a LH/PM9 fan. I did tinker with the reebok Crosby and the Easton Iginla a bit and was Ok with those but the PM9 (LeClair, Modano, Forsberg, Zetterberg, PM9) has been my go to since high school. Scotty 8 Report post Posted May 29, 2013 I'd probably look into a Total One from the My Bauer custom site. Add the extra 4" extension option they offer and make it a 102 flex to offset that length so that you're back down around the 95-ish flex you're used to. Moose 1 Report post Posted May 30, 2013 Didn't even consider that. That wouldn't come as a 102 flex with the 4 inch or would it change the stick's flex? Great idea though.
Scotty 8 Report post Posted May 30, 2013 Didn't even consider that. That wouldn't come as a 102 flex with the 4 inch or would it change the stick's flex? Great idea though. If I remember correctly, they make note and say "Flex may feel slightly softer due to added 4 inches". Hence why I suggested going 102 if you're now used to the previously pro-stock only rating of 95. However, now you can get a 95 on the customizer if you wanted it. You could also change whatever other options about the stick you wanted. Might cost you a bit, but I'm sure you're well aware that going after certain specifics on sticks can run you more money. Moose 1 Report post Posted June 1, 2013 I wonder if that same logic can be used with pro stock 10* flex sticks that are 62 inches long as well.
SBRH1 1 Report post Posted June 2, 2013 From my experience the new TotalONE NXG doesn't really feel like the ONE95. The ONE100 or regular TotalONE have a much more similar feel for the puck that the ONE95 has. The NXG is just lacking for me, at least the non-grip coating. The ONE100 and TotalONE were clear with ribs around the corners just like the ONE95, the non-grip NXG is matte. I don't like it but that is just my opinion.I wonder if that same logic can be used with pro stock 10* flex sticks that are 62 inches long as well.
Neo5370 132 Report post Posted June 5, 2013 I remember a post in this forum that the One.9 was purposely designed to be VERY similar the One95 and also an older thread saying the One100 felt nothing like the One95. In fact, according to that thread the One100 had terrible feel, almost like the X60.
