No Edge Holders in Play-offs?!

Recommended Posts

Custom boot, looking like the new skate but really is not and the Edge holder has a different height.

New skates and holder is properly something one would steer clear off, playing for winning the cup,

you want comfort and trust in your gear, not try something new.

Kane hasn't been in it, but there were a few Bruins who were. Seguin was in it during game 5, so was Krejci.

In your gallery, there isn't a clear shot of Seguin, but there is one of Krejci with EDGE.

At the end of the day, it's going to be up to the equipment manager. Some will, some won't. Just the way it is.

I would think that they will become more widely used next season. I can see a lot of players not wanting to change anything equipment wise while they are in the playoffs.

Krejci definitely had Edge holders. Also the photo/videographer in the photo of Bickell hoisting the cup clearly has them  I think the relatively limited availability of steel choices is probably a factor in them not being more universally accepted, plus as others have noted the fact that they are new and require a small adjustment.

Still wonder if fusion steel is not the choice of pros / equipment managers because of its performance / durability or if they wait to adapt their habbits for next season.
I do hope that the edge holder provides a stability of the steel as good as the previous holders were.
