Bauer Vapor Skates x 70 vs x7.0

Recommended Posts

What are the differences between the two. I have read that the x7.0 was basically an x:60. But I have also heard that about the x7.0

I have the x:60 and love them, shopping for my kids skates and trying to get an idea of where the value of old vs new sits.

Thanks

The x7.0s is basically an x60 which is pretty much top of the line, and the x70 is to say a middle of the line skate, not bad but not amazing.

JR's quote form the 2013 Bauer Catalog thread : "The X 100 skate is essentially the same spec as the Vapor APX from last year, and the X 90 replaces the 7.0."

The X 70 is indeed the mid-range model that replaces the X4.0. Excellent budget skate for lower level rep players or better house league skaters.

But if you can pick up an X7.0 at a discount price these days you're getting a great pair of skates.

While we're comparing, a friend of mine asked me, which current model is closest to his current vapor xx. I told him the vapor xx would probably be somehere betwene the x70 and x80, specs wise. Would that be accurate?

If you happen to live in Canada Sportchek/Hockey experts will be putting these skates on for 349 next week. I'm sure many other stores will be marking them down to similar prices also.

Facts:

Vapor x60 (top of the line for the year)

Vapor x7.0 a refreshed x60 with better durability due to issues of the x60 breaking down quickly

Vapor 90 is a stiffer refreshed version of the 7.0 that was a newer version of the x60 but now the 90 has the Tuuk Lightspeed Edge holder.

For someone dubbed 'Precision', you're not very precise.

You forgot the colon in 'X:60' and the 'X' in 'X90'. It makes a difference, as I've had more than one person put a pair of X60s on hold thinking they were X:60s. Fact.

lol
