Preferred Tapered Wood Blades

Recommended Posts

Making the switch back to wood blades and would like to know who has had good or bad experiences with different models. Especially concerned about durability. I know there are reviews on the different stores online but it's really difficult to sort out from a few reviews which blades actually are poorly made vs. had players with sour grapes buy them who don't seem to get that wood blades do sometimes break. I'll be using an older CCM Vector 8.0 shaft and right now I'm looking at a few different models:

Easton Mako Tapered Wood Blade

Easton Synergy EQ50 Tapered Wood Blade

Easton Synergy SE16 Tapered Wood Blade

Koho 892 Tapered Wood Blade

Sherwood 950 Tapered Wood Blade

Seems like the Sherwood will stand up to the most abuse, but wanted to hear the opinions on this forum. Thanks!

i always had good like with koho but they went out of business so curve choice and being able to buy them in the future if you decide they are the rigth blade may be limited,

Koho is now a Hockey Monkey house brand. Check them out. Basically, they have the CCM curves.

IF I believe right Koho was taken over by ccm Kiev. But the name was ended. The hockeymonkey koho was used for house brand goalie stuff but it may have grown to other things, not sure if that one is one of them.

I bought a new tapered Koho blade from the Monkey not long ago.

I loved the Mission pro-stock woodies. I still have a couple of Marleau's in circulation: one my brother's using, one with the tags still on it in the basement...
