Buckshot 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2013 Same here. No complaints so far after eight months. They were outrageously stiff at first but loosened up just enough to be comfortable a few weeks into my use, and do not seem to have degraded at all since. Levsauce 2 Report post Posted December 29, 2013 I have a pair and as they are a pretty stiff skate the boot is very durable, the holder performs well but has broken for some people, the apx2 is an amazing skate if you have the right foot for it
ZamboniFever 32 Report post Posted January 7, 2014 Levsauce - can you shed any light on the holders breaking? What caused the breakage? Was it a puck /shot that damaged them? Has anyone else heard of the holders breaking?
oldtrainerguy28 478 Report post Posted January 7, 2014 Without starting all over again i don't think it is to many broken more of a wear issue with the seating of the blade and movement when used hard. I have replaced 3 sets with traditional because the blade wobbles in the holder. I have seen an improvement however in larger sizes as of late. If its a deeper channel or more narrow not sure but less wobble for sure. Right now though most JR skates that come in are like the old grafs when the blade got loose. Problem is with the Edge holder you cant make it tighter. With the Graf you just tightened the screw. Although I did just have a pair of Grafs with a 5000 holder that I could not fix and had them take them back to the purchase point as they needed to be replaced. 6 months old tops.
