Innovative Blades

Recommended Posts

I just got my Innovative blade from Hockey and Skate Outlet and it is significantly smaller than the blade on my broken Synergy, about 1 inch shorter. Is this normal or did they send me the wrong blade.

Thanks.

Are you talking about the hosel length or blade length? And was the blade in your synergy a tapered blade or a standard blade?

I am sure he is talking about hosel length...for some reason, some Inno blades are long honsel and others are short...I have seen variations in the same pattern

Most of the Innos I've seen have longer hosels on the lower lie blades. I always assumed it was so you could use the same shaft with any of the blades without having to change plugs.

Well, I think it might be a junior blade, it clearly says Fedorov Jr. on the hosel. I don't think Inno makes junior blades which is why I don't understand this. When I first took it out of the box, my first thought was that it was a junior. Could this be possible? BTW it is a Fedorov Tapered blade and the one on my synergy was a Clymer pro-stock. I am talking about the blade length not the hosel.

This is one of my senior Inno tapered Fedorovs. As you can see, measuring from the top of the end of the "E" to the middle of the end of the blade is a length of close to 9.5 inches. It's stamped "FEDOROV" on the hosel, not "FEDOROV JR". Let me know if you need any more help/pictures.

inno makes junior fedorov blades. i accidently picked one up a couple months ago at peranis thinking it was senior but it wasn't. it was shorter in blade length. thankfully they let me exchange it via mail for a senior fedorov. and yes, fedorov is basically a modano clone.

Well, not that it makes a difference, however, you are also measuring from the wrong spot. Try measuring from the edge of the blade, not 1/4 to 1/2" in.

Federov has a bit more curve, am I right?

I think they're identical. My tapered Fedorov retail has a white strip that says "MODANO" under the graphite layer on the tenon.
