kingofnooyork 30 Report post Posted June 30, 2014 Probably just being paranoid but i recently noticed that carbon quarter package on my MX3s taking some damage. I've probably only skated in them a dozen time so far but a couple slapshots hit me and they have left some decent size gashes in the carbon part of the boot. Hopefully nothing to worry about but kind of scary. On a positive not though did not feel much pain on the shots.
AIREAYE 248 Report post Posted June 30, 2014 Dude they just came out, if there are any consistent 'durability issues' they'll be apparent later down the road...What you're experiencing based on your limited description isn't exactly an 'issue', more like wear-and-tear. Maybe a few pictures would help?

Maybe a few pictures would help?I'll post some pics later. Basically took a few shots that were not really cannon powered shots but level some digs in the carbon that were deeper and not consistent with basic wear and tear of the last 2 iterations of the totalone line. Material feels softer. Just concerned that if i have some damage like this already how long will the boot last?
laserrobottime 149 Report post Posted June 30, 2014 That boot is not carbon -- it's thin plastic. I don't understand why people think it's carbon fiber and expect it to act as such.
kingofnooyork 30 Report post Posted June 30, 2014 Well. whatever it is. Feels softer than previous TOs.

kingofnooyork 30 Report post Posted July 1, 2014 Here's what im talking about. Don't get me wrong best skates of all time but they just seem kind of soft and susceptible to gashes.http://imageshack.com/a/img822/7913/b3cz.jpghttp://imageshack.com/a/img823/6282/1fd6.jpghttp://imageshack.com/a/img856/8023/9k90.jpg
althoma1 575 Report post Posted July 1, 2014 That looks like normal cosmetic wear and tear. I wouldn't worry about those marks at all.
Precision 4 Report post Posted July 2, 2014 The curv composite graphics are known to chip or flake. If you take steel to an area the graphics are most likely going to go with it
kingofnooyork 30 Report post Posted July 2, 2014 I don't care about the graphics. Just want the boot to last.
Tommyj214 3 Report post Posted July 2, 2014 Yeah, your boots fine. My apx2s are way beyond that and still way good. Whoops forgot to add I've had them for a year.
