Beginner Ice Hockey Skate Sizing

Recommended Posts

I'm fairly new to playing ice hockey (started playing less than a year ago). I went to a skate shop and purchased Bauer Supreme skates under advisement from a sales associate, but they were and all around horrible fit. I then purchased RBK 12K in a D width. They fit much better, but still weren't perfect. The skates I'm using now are RBK 20k in a EE width. My pinky toe is fairly squished inside the boot. I've baked them twice, but only saw a small improvement.

I'm a size 2.5 skate and I have an extra wide foot in sneakers. I have a regular heel with a medium arch. Are there any skates that have an extremely wide toebox that won't squish my feet?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Size 2.5...is that a typo? Anyway, from what I have heard, people suggest RBK/CCM for those with wide feet. I am currently wearing CCM's and they fit great. Check out the chart in the link below. You may find it useful.

That link is very thorough when it comes to helmet fitting and so on. Very well done.
