BRUINS_FAN_74 19 Report post Posted September 14, 2014 I'll be back home in the US soon and want to get some custom made skates, either CCM RBZ or GRAF. Hockeymonkey said they can't help, so does anyone know of any shops in San Diego county or the LA area that can help?Retail skates don't seem to fit me well and customs could possibly help with my right foot issue. I'm playing in prostock CCM RBZ at the moment and so far have been the best fitting skates for me and have helped my foot issue slightlyThanks!

IPv6Freely 2096 Report post Posted September 21, 2014 hockeygiant? SDIA might be able to have a Bauer rep come do a custom fitting for you, possibly. Besides that, just Jakes.
BRUINS_FAN_74 19 Report post Posted September 21, 2014 Thanks for the info! Bauer seem to be too narrow for my feet.... Nexus 1000 skates might be suitable, but haven't been able to try on my size over here.I did try a 8 EE which fits my left foot, but my right is 8.5 EE. Over here they still cost $999 ,

A2rhino 63 Report post Posted September 25, 2014 Pretty sure Jakes in El Segundo can do them.http://jakeshockey.com/Did this use to be the PAS back in the day? When I lived in Hermosa I use to go there for LA Kings gear.
MThockeydad 469 Report post Posted September 25, 2014 If you have to spend $1,000 for skates, I'd rather have $1,000 custom skates ordered in the USA than $1,000 off-the-shelf skates in AUS as well!
mc88 160 Report post Posted September 25, 2014 If you don't find anything you like in the custom retail side, there always fully custom skates from VH Footwear (however, not local, but made in Canada): http://modsquadhockey.com/forums/index.php/topic/63437-vh-footwear/Click here for a direct link to see images of the skatesI went with VH because I have Frankenstein feet (two different size length and width feet). If you're like me, then that's why I'd highly recommend buying a pair. I've been using mine for about 6-7 months now and I love them!Just on a side note, Graf as a company seems to be hit or miss. I had a friend order up some custom Graf skates and the order was never fulfilled. When the LSH tried contacting Graf, they couldn't get a hold of anyone. Eventually, he just canceled his order and went with Bauer instead. So... if you don't want to go the VH route, I'd recommend sticking with custom Bauer (Nexus) or CCM (RBZ), as they're two deepest/widest boots you'll find in the retail market. SirJW 207 Report post Posted September 25, 2014 Did this use to be the PAS back in the day? When I lived in Hermosa I use to go there for LA Kings gear.No PIAS moved to 190th in Torrance in the center East of the .99 store. It's now called Larry Robinsons PIAS. Haven't been there recently but they seem to get more Coyotes and Red Wings gear, than Kings gear. Jakes has some Kings gear, mostly gloves, socks and skates.
