Hey guys, i just wanted to know if you think that the bones swiss ceramic are worth the price for inline hockey? would I get the benefit from these considering all the stops and starts of skating during a game?

I kind of feel bad that nobody answered this question sooner but no there isn't.. I don't know one person who uses ceramic bearings and i know some of the best roller players in the country right now considering my home rink's team just won PIHA and I'm sure if they gave any real competitive advantage they would be all over it. What i do stress is maybe getting abec swiss, 9's or even 7's and just TAKING CARE of them. You take care of them and they'll take care of you. Take that extra money and put it towards top notch wheels or skates. As long as bearings are well maintained, theres no point in doling out bookoo bucks for them.

I think it's more a case of inline players don't see the need or want to spend big bucks for ceramic bearings. I know a couple of guys who speed skate professionally and they will not use anything else but ceramics and the reason is speed, and this view is consistent through this sport. And they use full ceramics as they sometimes skate on wet surfaces and rust is an issue.

The top inline players I know just check to see if the wheels still roll let alone worry about the state of the bearing! Come tournament time they do a once over but other than that they just get out there and skate.

So saying I concur with MikeWhy, keep them clean and check them regularly and you will get a long life out of whatever bearing you choose. And if you buy top end skates they come with good bearings anyhow.

I could never justify spending so much $ on bearings. I personally like the Bones Swiss bearings, they're a little pricey, but are really good quality. Definitely feel better than any ABEC bearings. The Bones Reds are great for the price too.
