RPD Max vs. Fish BoneLite Pro vs. Mission Inhaler AC1/AC2

Recommended Posts

The chassis, sole, and rivets started to separate from my 5 year old Mission Wicked Lites and I'm looking to replace them with one of the following

RPD Max

Fish BoneLite Pro

AC1/AC2.

I've been skating on Mission for the last 18 years but am open to try an all 80 mm setup as I've heard great things about the Alkali skates. Normally do pick up once a week and one A-level game a week, looking for a skate with good durability as I tend to keep them until the frames fall off.

Looking for some personal opinions on any of the skate mentioned above, and thanks for any input.

I've seen and skated in all of these, any of them are great skates. It all comes down to how they fit your foot. I destroy skates and the Alkali range has the best boot build I have seen, it is the boot I have skated in the most. I haven't seen anything bad about the other 2, we have a few or our elite players in these and they are all still going well. $ wise Tour is hard to beat for the specs you get, AC1's are solid but expensive relative to other top end brands. They do seem to have improved sole issues they had with the Axiom line.

I went through the same scenario as you.

My Wicked lights fell apart after 6 or 7 years and I needed a replacement & naturally looked at the AC1s.

I took the gamble after reading about Alkali on these forums & have never looked back.

And I've only got CA9s, the MAXs are even better!

If you go Alkali youll wonder why you didn't sooner!

No complaints about the forward pitch. My son skates in Bauers and he doesn't mind swapping to my rpd Max skates when he leaves his behind, lol. The boots heat mold really well so width is not an issue, the width was changed from the ca9 line and has become slightly wider thru the toe box and heel area. If you have narrow heels like me this caused an issue until I compressed the width inwards after a bake.

Avoid Tour if you want any real kind of durability. I went with them against my better judgement due to the price, the tech is dated, skates are heavy and they fall apart very quickly.

Customer service is also poor, seeing as I emailed tour directly about my dissatisfaction and received no reply.
