CCM Resistance fit advice

Hey guys I need some advice before I make an internet purchase.

I'm looking at getting a CCM Resistance 300 helmet sent over from Hockey Monkey (local stores don't stock CCM) and my head measurement is in between two sizes.

My head measures 58cm around. The medium size is for a max head size of 59cm and the large size is for a minimum 57cm. That puts right between the two.

I currently have a Bauer 4500 and i think (think!) it's a size medium but I feel like it's sometimes sitting up a little bit high on my head.

Maybe my head is long but not wide...which could make sizing weird...i dunno. Does anyone have any advice from purchasing this helmet or similar?

The best advice for purchasing helmets is to buy them from somewhere where you can physically try them on. Those measurements tell you absolutely nothing about how a helmet really fits in terms of width, depth etc. No two helmets fit exactly alike.

This is so very true. Even within the same manufacturer helmets fit differently. I bought a new helmet this weekend, coming from a CCM V08. I was very interested in the new Resistance or 300 from CCM, but neither fit me well. Both were too tight at the temples and above my ears even in the largest size and largest adjustment setting.

I ended up back in a V08.

For what it's worth, the 4500 runs larger than the Resistance 300. Trying on the helmet would be ideal, but seems like it's not possible.

How open/closed is your 4500?

Hey I can't just go and try one on because our local shops don't stock CCM. My 4500 is adjusted about mid way. However, I do find that it feels a little tight through the side of the head sometimes and I feel like it sits up a little high. One thing that attracted me to the Resistance is that I hear it's a bit deep.

You're gonna have to order the two sizes online, try them out, and see if one fits (or neither fits) and then return the one that doesn't. That's how it goes online.

I have CCM Resistance 300 helmet in large and my head circumference is also 58 cm. Seems like my head is little wider and medium helmet was ok lengthwise but tight at the temples. I also tried Bauer (not sure if 4500) and the helmet was ok in medium but had it on my head for about a minute. Seems like you might need to get the large size as we may have similar heads, lol. The best would be to try it on as with helmets they need to fit you perfectly for the best protection. I also have Reebok 7K in large and it seems like it fits exactly the same so check your store if the carry Reebok helmets. I love my CCM helmet and large size is a perfect fit for me. I hope it helps.

Thanks mate but that's not how it works when you're ordering from Australia. Postage is just too expensive.

Looks like I'll go with Large. But I might sus out this other shop to see if they have anything CCM (I don't mind using this shop to try things on because they suck).

i think sizing up is the smart way to go.

Size up. My kid went from the V08 Small to a Medium in the 300. They fit a bit differently.
