deep skate cut on Bauer curv quarter

Recommended Posts

Pretty deep skate cut on ankle/heel of skate, not quite all the way through the material but looks pretty close. Thought about filing with epoxy but from what I've read so far most don't bond well to polypropylene. Worried about it cracking through, any recommendations as to what I can fill it in with?

I also had a couple of deep skate cuts on my old TotalOne's that happened early on while I was using them. Mine wound up being nothing more than cosmetic, not expanding throughout the life of the skate. As already offered, a picture of the damage might bring you more thoughts on your skates.

I have the same cut in the same spot on my One95 skates & to repair, I taped off the area, filled it with JB weld & smoothed it out, then took some black Testors paint and brush to it... this was in mid- 2012 and still holding up well to this day.

I was also worried about structural damage, but like mentioned earlier, it's more cosmetic and wouldn't worry about it after patching up.

Thanks, I'll give that a whirl, glad to hear the jb weld hung onto it.

Quick question, did you go with the "plasticbonder" product (jb site says it works with polypropylene and dries tan)? Just want to make sure I'm grabbing the right one.
