kovalchuk71 212 Report post Posted May 27, 2015 I've been trying to figure this out for the longest time. Would it be better for your front wheels to be softer or harder? The softer wheel would allow more urethane flex upon takeoff, but wouldn't that cause you to lose kinetic energy and make your first couple of strides less efficient than say, using a harder wheel? The harder wheel would flex less and be more similar to a piece of steel on ice. The negative point with the harder wheel would be less traction on the floor compared to the softer wheel.Physics class has me thinking today......

sss1987 55 Report post Posted May 27, 2015 Wheels work (grip) by them being compressed into the floor.Blades on ice work because they cut into the ice.So go for softer wheels on the front.
