Stick length affecting lie

How does stick length affect lie? Is there a general rule on how much adding or cutting a stick will affect the lie? For example if I add or subtract 1 inch will it equal adding or subtracting .5 on the lie scale. I know the actual lie never changes but cutting or adding to a stick will change how much blade is on the ice.

Curious about this too. If the stick is wearing too much on the toe of the stick would you want to shorten your stick?

Dezonator57... if youre getting too much wear on the toe, shortening it would make it worse. You'd want to add a bit of length, OR get a different lie.

In general, shortening your stick will make it easier to play with a higher lie. For me, it was no more than 2 inches (shorter) to feel comfortable with a 5.5 instead of a 5. That will move the wear from the heel to the middle on most sticks for me.
