Advice for terrible arch pain in left foot only

Recommended Posts

I bought a new pair of Reebok 20k skates size 9D about a week ago. The right foot fit perfectly and was probably one of the most comfortable skates I have ever tried on. The left foot fit fine in length and width, but there is a pain in the arch of the foot that is unbearable. To be more specific, it feels like there is a golf ball in the arch of my left foot. If the skate turns in or out it only increases the pressure felt on the arch of my foot. The only thing I have done to the skates at this point is sharpen them. I skated for about 30 min but the pain became too strong. I would really like to keep these skates if I could do something about the arch in the left foot. Any suggestions?

Have you not had them heat molded yet? That could alleviate some of the pressure. You could also be tying that skate too tight and due to the lacelock the laces are not relaxing enough as you are wearing them.

If the pain is just above the arch, and on the inside of the foot, you may have an extra bone called an "accessory navicular". This can be very uncomfortable until you get the area punced out. Just google the condition and you will be able to tell if this is your problem.
