where the boot meets the toe cap

Recommended Posts

I'm curious if there is an option on custom Bauer skates or an aftermarket product that you can buy to provide protection where the boot meets the toe cap on the sides of the boot. I have found the Fenders and ShotBlockers seem to stop just short of there. I know that Easton had used a rubber cap at that point on there S17 Skates.

My bad. Trying to protect it from impact. I took a puck there the other day and it was the first time I had ever felt any sort of pain from a shot.

A couple of years ago I hunted really hard for something like this but came up with zilch. Other than something custom made, the only other idea I had was to find an old boot that was big enough and cut the toe cap out and glue this over your existing toe cap.

I would guess that its low. This was the first time it happen to me. I was thinking worst case to find some old S17's, rip that rubber cover off and glue them onto mine. Just wasn't sure if there was a pro stock option when ordering custom skates for something like this built into the boot.
