1X vs. MX3 VOLUME only discussion

Recommended Posts

I went with a 10EE and figured since the Vapor last is true to size, it would work. The narrowness in the NXG is in the forefoot so I think I would need a 10EE. The heel (aside from slippage because of the length) and arch are perfect in the D but the outsides of each forefoot are too crammed.

Sounds like you're on the right path with the EE MX3. With the price of them now, I'd definitely jump on a set. They're worth it. I came from APX. These are night and day for me as far as fit. The lacing system gives a nice wrap as well.

I've been in supreme since the original TO line so I might as well stick with what I know. I'm definitely considering a pair but at the same time I'm very intrigued by the 1S. Hopefully we'll be getting some info on those pretty soon.

I'm really enjoying the 1X skate, HOWEVER... what's with the stiff forward leaning tendon guard? That's my only complaint so far. The MX3's is far superior IMO. Sometimes I can feel it, which bugs me. Never felt it on the MX3s. I also really need to change the radius on these LS4 steel runners. UGH. The 9' seemed to be more agile than the 10' radius. IDK, Maybe it's me...

hey fellas, check this out... upon review of Bauer's new catalogue, it appears they are finally offering SPEEDPLATES.  The really interesting part is they are only offered in full sizes, with a complimentary dotted "cut line" for fit trimming.

Now, let's just say you take a half size skate, like myself...6.5D.  Did I receive a size 6 speedplate? This could certainly explain the loose fit of the plates in the skate, especially once the skate has been baked, and broken in. I don't see any trim lines on mine.

If this is correct, those that fit a full size skate, would probably benefit with a more consistent speedplate fit than those with an extra half-size... ASSUMING Bauer fits their half size skates with the next full size down, which appears to be accurate, considering all the complaints about loose fitting speedplates...
