Stewie 721 Report post Posted February 18, 2016 Is it better to try and convert my skates myself, or let the shop I purchase them from do it the answer depends on information we are not given, I.e. Do you have the necessary tools and knowledge of how to do so, the time available, and is there a LHS that you trust with such a conversion.
moejoe3117 1 Report post Posted February 18, 2016 Only person I had convert a pair no longer works there. He is now one of the equipment managers for the blues. If I purchase at total hockey I think it would be free. I've done it before with goalie skates, and I did a friends skates. I have the tools and the time. I don't have t-nuts. And with TH doing it I figured they would be on the hook for any mistakes.
SirJW 207 Report post Posted February 19, 2016 There is an entire thread dedicated to the subject w/ links to hardware, how to video and plenty of how to pix.Very long but if you read a few pages back the links will be current.http://modsquadhockey.com/forums/index.php/topic/18451-custom-skates-ice-to-inline-conversion/page-
datsvechkin 38 Report post Posted February 19, 2016 I would suggest DIY but be patient and follow the instructions in the thread mentioned. Most shops will remove the holders from ice boots for free.
moejoe3117 1 Report post Posted February 19, 2016 Before I start reading through all those pages, should the center of the chassis lineup with the center of the boot? Length and width?
