prostock..

Recommended Posts

if u were to buy say a regular kovy blade would it be a different curve than buying a prostock kovy blade ?

The Kovalev retail :

The pro stock curve :

Also, the pro stocks are more longer than the retails.

I have to mention that the retail are less durable than the Kovy pro stock blades. My brother has passed throught 3 blades(retail) and I have not broke any of my pro patterns.

i guess they would rather make a blade that doesnt last very long and u have to keep buying more = more money

i have an idea, how about they make a really good blade that doesnt break often and then everyone would buy it because its so good

maybe thats a bad business plan......

why do they have crappier versions for retail? i wish they would just make all blades like the pro stock if they are so much better

kinda annoying....

The average player can't/won't use a real pro curve. Easton's Drury is the closest thing to a pro curve at the retail level and it doesn't sell well.

i dont think thats what he meant. he means the way they are built. not the curves.

Most pro stock aren't built that much better. Care to see my pro stock Synergy SL pics again?

What you said is so true, I know a lot of guys who have pro stock blades and they have a lot of problem adjusting to the pattern. But IMO, I would prefer to have real pro stock blades than retail version...

Some guys in the NHL/AHL/ECHL just take a retail pattern and put their name on it. Look at the sticks of Ribeiro, it's a Sakic clone. I do remember sawing one of his Synergy with Sakic on it and another with Ribeiro on it with the same curve.

I'll post a pick of the prostock Kovalev blade unless Kovy beats me to it since the picture from the Hockey and Skate Outlet doesn't accurately show the true pattern of the blade.

One thing, aren't pro Kovy blades real heavy too? Maybe they just put more material in it. My inno Hull just split at the back of the hosel, still stiff though. I put some shoe goo to cover up the gap and it should be good for at least a few more weeks.
