1x skate sizing

Recommended Posts

I tried on in store briefly and D width seems on par with what my supremes (Total One & NXG) felt like both width and length wise?

I thought Vapors are supposed to be more narrow since Supremes are a wide last and Vapors are true to last?

I also see a lot of ppl switching from 1x to 1s and back seamlessly so does it mean the sizing is uniformed now?

Can someone who had experience with both confirm?

Thanks!

Well, whatever works for your foot...

Vapors are definitely narrower though, especially in the heel. I am a 7.5D in Vapor, and a  (poorer fitting) 7.0D in Supreme. I may actually be a 7.0C in Supreme but I didn't get the chance to try that size. The Supreme for me also felt like i could rotate my foot a bit when I leaned on an edge (this was just in store), I'm not sure if that would have been solved with a bake or not. Either way, the Vapor fit my foot better.

BTW this was with an MX3 not a 1S.

In the end, I think just like pants, it's hard to get a very good fit when you only go by two measurements, length and width. Different people have vastly different feet with different shapes. If you fit both, then maybe your feet just happen to be "in between" the lasts for Vapor and Supreme lines.

I always find it interesting how each of us find a skate "fitting."  I find the my MX3s to fit LONGER than my 1Xs.  I also find the toe cap area of the 1X WIDER than the MX3.

I do find the overall FIT of the MX3 to be wider than the vaporD.

To answer your question..no. When I switched, it was a totally different feel. I believe the sizing to be true to Bauer's fit profile per skate.  It also depends on how much a skater is willing to SACRIFICE as far as fit is concerned, to GAIN something else.  I sacrificed stiffness and responsiveness to be in a best fitting skate for me, which is the MX3.  When I skated in the 1X, I sacrificed depth, some comfort,

and mobility to be in what feels to be a FASTER, more responsive skate.  It is NOT an easy transition as BOTH skates offer a totally different fit and features.

coincidentally, I DID settle on a C width MX3.  Great heel lock, and  a tighter fit.
