Healthyscratch 11 Report post Posted July 27, 2016 Does anyone know what the "Glide enhancers" (that you spray on synthetic ice) are made of? Particularly the water soluble non-silicone kind. Wire lubricant? On other hand, the MSDS sheet should be available from the manufacturers website. If not you can call them a ask for it. it is a law of some kind that they have to have it, and they have to issue to anyone without quedtions asked. MSDS is not going to give you exact formula, but will give you a list of ingredients which you will be able to compare to other product. It will be a process of pocking and may or may not produce desired results. I am not going to be surprised however, if you find something that will work and be fraction of the cost. Most are advertising it as environmentally friendly, so I can't imagine that it's anything complicated. The ice I have is supposedly self lubricating, in which the heat generated from the friction on the blade brings the oils out of the plastic to create glide...but it's still doing a number on the edges rather quickly. the_game 452 Report post Posted July 28, 2016 +1 for the Pledge but we used a cheap generic dust spray. At least it counteracted the smell of stinky hockey players and gear.
