this guy

heads up for anyone interested in a TPS ops

Anyone know what the flexes are like on the McCarty, Maltby and Lang sticks are? I'm looking for a 260.

All three generally use 240-220 to teh best of my knowledge. No telling what those are though without asking.

Here's an even BETTER deal.... Inno... Pro... 1100 fused.... $77

http://www.hockeygeeks.com/display_product...product_id=1272

Hey,I'm not a inno expert...but i know some here in mods are...

Do you know the type curve of these RIGHT pro return pattern??(i'm a inginla/Guerin(franklin) type curve...)

Thanks guys!!

No, but I did send them an e-mail last night from my private account (which I can't check at the office). I asked them about the curves as well (note, the site also does not mention anything about the flexes of the sticks or (of lessor concern) handle shapes). I'll let you know if I hear anything from them.

They DID write me back today, but didn't notice that I had asked about what they had for RH (and thus, did not actually answer my question - just asked what hand).

SO, perhaps tomorrow I'll have an answer.

Thanks for the trouble you take for me!!

OK.... so I finally heard back from the HockeyGeeks on the Inno pro curves. Based on what I told them I was looking for, they sent me a scanned pic of the Marshall curve. If someone knows a way to post photos, I'll share with the group.

Short of that, the Marshall blade looks straight until about half way up the blade. Blade looks to hook (from mid blade), and slightly starts to open face.

The curve looks to start gradually (from the mid), butl looks like it gets more aggressive towards the toe.

Essentially, I said I like the Gagne/Shanny curve, and this was the curve they thought I'd like, and it looked good enough to me that I plunked the $77 plus shipping down.

I have since written back to ask what flex it is.

Peranis is having a blow-out on pro-stock TPS XN10's, $99.00 each, 80 bucks for the second one if you buy two!

I just got my Tkachuk pro-stock and it is an original XN10 with the un-released XN10 logo! ! ! I remeber bitchin' when I got one last year because the paint job on this thing is horrific. It looks like TPS hired a guy that spray paints subway graffiti! However I have never found a lighter one-piece that peforms as well. This version is lighter than a Stealth. And that's because the initial proto-runs of this stick were built with a total disregard for durability; it was built purely for performance. After TPS quickly realized they needed to add durabilty they changed the formula of the composition of the shaft and changed the logo. I've been looking for this stick for over a year, and finally I have found it! I am so damn happy. The only bad part, which I know is inevitable, is if the stick lasts more than ten games, I will be shocked.

If anyone stops in any of the Peranis and sees any XN10 pro-stock with the un-released logo, in a closed face, mid-heel pattern, please shoot me a pm. I would really appreciate it.

p.s. If any of you guys are on the fence about buying a stick and are noticing that A LOT of retailers are giving sick deals, do not second guess it and buy as many sticks as you can afford. Yes sticks are discounted right now to make way for the new line-ups, but a lot of places are just blowing out sticks due to the lack of sales, which is due to the Lock-Out. Make no mistake, if the NHL were in full swing all season, I promise you, you would not be able to buy TWO XN10 pro-stocks for $180.00

Hey, I picked 2 up at Perani's today. They had ones with paint job you mentioned as well as one with the newer graphics.

The paint job has no gloss to it, and had an exageratedly large white X on the XN10 logo (with the rest of the N10 letters being in yellow).

If those were the ones you were looking for, I think they were the early test models as the back of the stick calls it a C8 (the OLD model - new ones have C10 on the back). Holding it with the newer logo'd one, it feels just slightly heavier, but that could be my imagination.

Ogie, I'd like to hear what those flexes are on the 1100, and also if they gave you additional curve descriptions.

I also was lucky enough to grab a pro-stock Xn-10 a year ago. I love the stick...it's been durable, extremely light, unfortunately just a tad too stiff for my taste but I wanted to take a chance on it.

No descriptions actually. It took 5 days and 3 e-mails to them to nail down an answer. I told them what I was looking for (something along an Easton Shanny or Bauer Gagne) and they sent me a photo of the Marshall curve (I probably would have been better off to call, but don't like doing that from the office).

As for the flex, I did write back and ask about that, but won't be able to check for an answer until tonight.

As for the XN10's I have heard nothing but good things about them. After the board poll where that won best OPS of the year, and with the cheap prices, I just felt I had to get one. One is really stiff, the other a fairly nice "pro-flex" (roughly a 95 - best seat of the pants sort of personal evaluation).

I like the fact that the pro ops come extra long - don't have to make a seperate trip for a longer plug.

I did hear back on the flex - they said that the flex wasn't listed as each was made to the player's exact specifications (which I find hard to believe - perhaps they didn't know about the number codes or the stamp typically found on the inside of the handle on INNO's).

BUT, regardless, I ended up canceling my order of the Marshall stick. For one, they won't tell you up front the shipping costs. This might be an OK thing though, as they (supposedly) just charge you exact shipping costs (no "handling" charge). The charge to ship from there to Dallas was $32.95 CAD, which is a bit steep (but, it's US to Canada, so...).

HOWEVER, the reason why I didn't end up ordering (besides the fact that I just bought the XN10's and am no longer in need more back up sticks) was because they asked for my social security number.

My SS#? To order sticks? Now, I understand why they are asking for it I suppose (it's a customs thing - although, on a side note, I'd hate to be charged a customs charge), but I have never been asked to provide such a thing when ordering from Canada before, and am uncomfortable sharing this information with a company I've never done business before with. I mean, identity theft is so rampant these days, and it just seems damned odd.....
