RINK RAT 15

Rink Rat/CCM ProTeam wins 4th straight National

Recommended Posts

I would like to thank everyone who was at the Torhs winter nationals this past weekend in Philadelphia.

Team Rink Rat's /CCM Pro Team won another National Championship going undefeated for the 4th straight National Event. Rink Rat holds a 25-0-1 record in National Championship competition.

I would like to thank all the guys who made the trip and were looking forward to defending our $40,000 championship this summer in Taylor Michigan...

I would also like to that Tony, Lori and the entire staff at Torhs for another wonderful event.

Don't forget to check out the WCC events were running in California starting Feb 12th, have a peek on the Torhs website for more information or email me directly at mhunt@mearthane.com

Take care and see you at the rink!

Michael Hunt

I would have to agree with you there, We met last year and beat them in overtime at Torhs, Game could have gone either way, Kteck has a great squad and having Robbie between the pipes doesn't hurt either. I imagine everyone will get there wish this summer and hopefully the game will live up to the hype.

The parody in the pro division is getting closer every year, Powerhouses like Rink Rat, K Tech and the Mudcats have been the standard for the past few years but teams like Pama Cyclones, Mission Snipers and Joe Suks team in Georgia have making great strides. This summer should be really interesting. It will be a tough task for Rink Rat to win its 5th straight National title but were looking forward to the challenge.

See you at the rink!

Mike

Yeah, I play against the Suks' team all the time. I play with some of their players in an adult league. I play with Stefan Normandeu, if the name sounds familiar. Joe is a scary guy man, once I hit him in the head while trying to lift his stick up and he came chasing after me!! They are both good guys and are always willing to offer good advice.

Well, i'll list a bunch of names, but most of them I only know through playing them. We played against them in the Georgia Games this past summer.

Joey Sartori (who i think is away at school)

Koutnik

Stefan

There are others that i'm blanking on right now. Is Danny Droltz still part of that team at all? Then there are a bunch of the guys on the Firebirds as well, Sewell, Brown, Chudzick (sp?), etc.

I've been a little out of the loop lately, just playing single A at the Cooler as it's fit my schedule better and has been slightly less stressful.

Well hey man I probably played against you over the summer. I played in the GA games too for adult. I was on the blue team, can't exactly remember what the name of the team was. We had Chris Rogers play for us in the last game that we had. We also had a pretty good goalie, his name was Pat something.

I played with Joe this past season in an adult leage at GSC, he's a good guy. I played with Koutnik for Cooler travel 17U 2 years ago. I'm supposed to be playing for Stefan's travel team, but I haven't heard much from him yet. I play against Chudzick in that adult league that I was telling you about earlier, the kid is quick. You should check out the league at GSC, it is pretty competitive. I also know that next year the league over in Snellville at SGAA will be good too. Are you playing in the Winternationals at Snellville this weekend?

Blue team....wasn't that the team from North Carolina....umm....Tsunami or something. I think you guys beat us. I was playing on the green team out of Marietta. It was the first time we'd put those 8 guys together, so we had a hard time coming together as a team at all. Couple of the guys were all about hotshotting and showboating, so we didn't play team hockey very well. Got very frustrating as a stay at home defenseman who like to pass and dish out for assists.....too many of our guys weren't down with that game plan. Oh well, it was fun anyway. Out best game was against Stefan's team, only lost to them 5-3, and gave them a good run.

I'm not going to be at the tourney this weekend. I'm going to be out of town for work, so i couldn't make it. Would have like to have played, but i'll put a team together for next time.

Chudzick is very quick, and Dan Brown has one of the most amazingly fast slapshots, both in puck speed and his release, that i've seen in amateur hockey ranks. The firebirds are a solid squad, but they've been playing together for years. I'd love to look into the SGAA and GSC leagues, but i've got two problems. One, i live over on the vinings side of town, so it's a long way for me to get out to Gwinettt, and two, most of the guys i play with might not want to move over there either. But i'll keep it in mind. Right now, we're pretty happy with the level we're playing at, because i don't feel like i'm getting my ass kicked every night, so its easier to get up and go to work in the mornings.

What about Darren Kaye? I think he's been playing goalie for Stefan.....you know him? He's a great guy. Real joker, but a lot of fun to play with. I love a goalie who talks ot me during the games. He's played for us a couple of times at the Cooler.

Oh god, Darren! He played with us last season at GSC, and sold out and played for the other top team this season. It is too bad that he is getting old, he used to be a solid goalie. Now he just talks trash and flops around in net, but it is funny to watch. We beat them once already, and he was pissed that he was playing for the other team. We play them again tonight actually. He is a real smartmouth, but just funny as all. Let me know what your name is, and I will talk to Stefan and Darren tonight.

My name is Raif Erim. If they can't figureme out by name, tell them i'm the 6'6" guy that's good friends with Rich Call and Dave Pechous. That should ring their bell as to who I am.

Who all is on your team now, and who is Darren playing for. He's not with the Firebirds, is he? He is defintiley a smart ass.....but he sure can run his mouth. I guess it may be an age thing, but he is also pretty serious about his softball, which i think takes a lot out of him.
