CCM E-PRO/ Bauer Edge Tuuk Holder Compatability

Recommended Posts

Hi there, not sure if this is a dumb question, but I figured id ask since I can't find an answer anywhere. I recently was given some CCM U skates in size 8d and they fit perfectly. I wear a 7.5 D Bauer 1s, have extra edge holders and ls4 steel (263mm) from my current skates. Would these holders fit the 8d ccm's, or will it not work since the ccm u is at 272mm?

Millimeters don't lie.

Would they fit on the boot?  Yes.

Would they be the right size for the boot?  No.

Gotcha, so would this cause any skating problems, or just be a pain to replace?

Howdy,

Sounds like that would be a one way ticket to Toe Pick City.

If the boots fit the same, why wouldn't the same size holder work on each, regardless of what the manufacturer says the size is?

He never said the Bauers fit perfectly.

But even then, you're still talking about a 8mm difference in steel length.  And he wants to put the shorter steel on the boots that have the proper sized steel on them already. If centered properly he'd be short 4 mm fore and aft.

Once again, mm don't lie.

You’d be pretty off balance. With an oversized holder, you can move the balance point to match the boot.

On an undersized, you’re missing physical material there.

I figured it wouldn't work but wanted to be sure before buying new steel and holders. Thanks for the help!
