Hockey gives me gas

Seriously, every time I play I get horrible gas. I thought it might be the water at the rink but I've tried bringing water from home or drinking Gatorade and still my guts are crankin out methane.

Makes no difference. I don't have a set pre game meal. It happens no matter what.

And my mates give me plenty of room on the bench. :lol:

Yeah i get gas too. It's sort of funny when you can "crop circle" around a guy and he doesn't know right away then when he smells it, his face is priceless.

If you have carbonated water (ex. pop) after a game, that seems to do the trick for an irritable bowel.. atleast for me :lol:

Yeah, just don't actually swallow as much water. Get your mouth wet and spit it out. That's why most times in an NHL game you see players and goaltenders do that.

One reason could be that you may be swallowing some air whenever you drink water.

Sometimes when people squirt water into their mouth they inadvertantly swallow a bunch of air along with the water. The gas builds up and they either get bad gas or nausea.

I believe this was a problem for J.S. Giguere at one point and it is the reason why he now has a long straw attached to his water bottle.

I drink an entire water bottle every period, always got to fill it back up in between periods and I never get gas, lol. Mabye it's something you eat before the game? This one guy on my team ALWAYS comes into the lockerroom with Taco Bell and eats it while he's getting dressed :D.

Just use it as an offensive (pun intended) weapon in front of the net to throw the goalie off his game, lol
