start_today 770 Report post Posted October 17 Has anyone worn the CCM m150 referee jersey? How does it fit? This is the cheaper model, not the pro. Specifically looking at how much room the sleeves have for elbows. I’m looking to get into reffing, but also not wanting to drop a bunch of money if I don’t like it. So, hoping to get buy on the less expensive jersey and ideally being able to use player elbows rather than buying a new set for reffing.
laserrobottime 149 Report post Posted October 22 That's a fine jersey -- it's thin, so if you're in a cold rink make sure you wear something warm under it. For elbow pads, player pads are going to be very bulky, regardless of the sweater you choose. If you're just starting out reffing, you'd be better served by wearing volleyball knee pads as elbows. I did 9 years in the ECHL and AHL wearing soft foam elbow pads.
marka 526 Report post Posted November 8 Howdy, No experience with that jersey, so I can't help there. Some guys/kids I ref with don't wear elbows. I wouldn't do it, but I'm also the guy that wore pads underneath when I went to public skates too. If you're just starting out, want to see if you like it without spending too much $$, and you're doing games where you're not likely to get wiped out I would say you could skip elbows. Wear your player shins though. Sticks to the shins on faceoffs are super common. You could also check with local refs in the area to see if someone has an old jersey you could borrow / buy.
