Tape Troubles

Whatever you do, do not use comp-o on your but end. Its sticky as hell and probably contributed to my goatskins tanking so quickly.

Renfrew, I cannot stand Renfrew. Doesn't last worth crap, and the edges of it always fray and the tape comes apart.

Yeah, on the blade it sucks but for butt-end grip it works great.

Exactly. It really messed up the palm of a pair of my Robitaille HG1 pro stocks. I wasn't happy. They should put a warning label on the tape, IMO.

Really? How long did it take? I've been using mine for a while now and no ill effects yet.

I put a fresh grip on there with that tape and after playing for 2 hours, I had a ton of residue literally stuck to my palms. When I tried to pick it off, it started to pull the palm off too so I just left it alone. When I was playing I noticed it was really sticky, but didn't think it would screw up my palms the way it did.

I haven't seen the problem yet on my Heliums but my but ends aren't sticky. If the tape folds over it can get pretty sticky but I actually made sure every wrap was flat when I taped her up.

My wraps were flat too.....maybe it has to do with the palm materials.

That could be. Maybe you got a roll with a little extra adhesive too?
